**FRIDAY's Quizzes have been graded, and recorded on the home access system. We will write the grades in the student agendas on Monday, but I was VERY pleased!!! We will continue to prepare this week for our test on February 6! We've still got a few skills to learn, and master, but we are going to be ready to CRUSH fractions!!!!**

**In On-Level Math...**

**Morning Work- **This week we will be reviewing fraction concepts that we learned in the past, and will need to keep sharp! On Monday, you will be given your own fraction, and a list of questions you must answer about it. You will answer those questions on paper, and once you do, you'll be given a poster board to display them on. Here are some of the questions we'll be using:

Where does your number fall on the number line?

Can you make your fraction improper?

What are 3 equivalent fractions to your fraction?

What is your fraction as a decimal?

Can you make a model of your fraction using Flats, rods, and units OR using circle, square, or tape models?

Can you add your fraction to 1 1/2?

Can your fraction be simplified? Why or why NOT? : )

Can you subtract your fraction from 10?

Can you compare your fraction to another fraction to determine if it is greater than, less than, or equal to your fraction?

**What will we be doing this week? **This week we will be subtracting fractions this week using cross multiplication and a variety of strategies! Do you ever need to regroup when you subtract whole numbers? We'll need to do something similar with fractions, and will work forward to harder fraction subtraction problems by the end of the week that require regrouping.

In class this week we will also be demonstrating our mastery of some basic math facts using That Quiz. Come ready to Simplify! Simplify! Simplify! It's a skill we should know! Know! Know! (Be sure you've completed all the practice tasks!) Here are some additional resources that should be helpful:

**In Advanced/Accelerated Math...**

**Morning Work- **Mega Ditto! I'll be giving you a fraction as well, but you will have some additional questions involving multiplication and division!

**What will we be doing this week? **We will be taking the FastBridge test on Tuesday! That leaves us only three instructional days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Friday, we will skip the usual quiz, so we can work on graphing! We need to look at our agendas and select a date for the end of unit test, and talk about study materials we should all have.

**Homework Paper- **Pencil homework from the textbooks will be given to you Monday!
